I'm ALL for more sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural TV shows, believe me.

But Vampire Diaries, really? )

All in all, I'm with [livejournal.com profile] sundancekid. I know everyone is riding the vampire-mania of Twilight in the entertainment industry, but how about some hot werewolves or hot zombies or something else.

Or really, I would just be happy with more supernatural romance stories/books/shows/movies where the sexy, dangerous supernatural character is the female protagonist and SHE has to figure out how to navigate her strength and sexuality around a mortal man (like Blood and Chocolate!!!).

I'm pretty good on scared/weak mortal girls and sexy/dangerous supernatural boys for right now ;)

I love those periodic times/challenges that each fandom gets really excited about. I remember anticipating each new round of [livejournal.com profile] vm_library and [livejournal.com profile] vm_santa. Now I get all worked up waiting for the VividCon vids to release each year, or for another round of [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang.

I don't have many flisters who are very active in SPN/J2 fandom, so I mainly just read a lot of J2 and lurk in a few journals, but I am REALLY enjoying the squee and excitement right now over [livejournal.com profile] j2_everafter. J2 AUs are my favorite kind of fic to read right now and the prospect of dozens of new AUs (crackalicious DISNEY-themed ones, no less!) is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOMESAUCE.

Can't wait to read them all!

Summary: The question isn't 'what are we going to do today?' The question is 'what AREN'T we going to do today?', or A Day In The Life of an Eighties Teen/Twentysomething

It was acceptable in the eighties, it was acceptable at the time )

Feedback is happy-making!

OMG YOU GUYS, I made something that doesn't involve people in space or angsty demon/vampire hunters!!!

I've got a favor to ask of my brilliant and bounteous flist!

My brain got hijacked by an awesome vid bunny a few days ago and I need your help: I would absolutely love it if everyone would comment with their favorite cheesy eighties movie(s), particularly ones that feature absolutely hilariously bad 80's outfits.

I'm talking both the classics (like John Hughes and John Cusack and Ferris Bueller's and Back to the Futures, etc.) and the guilty pleasures (like Teen Witch and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Bill and Ted's). The worse the outfits and hairstyles are, the better for me.

So tell me your faves! Don't be afraid to mention specific characters or scenes. I need your help to make the awesomest nostalgia vid ever :)
