So, for the record, I cried three times...
cried for dobby
cried for Harry's deathwalk to the forest (A LOT of crying here)
cried for the headmaster portraits congratulating harry

I LOVED all the house-elf bits: that Kreacher just needed the right attention from Harry et al, and that Dobby went out like such a hero, and that Kreacher led a revolt of house-elves in the Hogwarts Battle

Liked that Snape and Dumbledore had planned the death beforehand (which was my first thought when I read book 6). The backstory on his longstanding love for Lily was good too.

Totally enjoyed all the mythology leading up into the Horcruxes vs. Hallows debate for Harry. Was a little less excited about the gobs of attention paid to Dumbledore-and-his-flawed-past, but I liked the Hallows bits.

I got all excited every time I heard about Ginny (or Neville or Luna) and their off-camera resistance exploits. Wish there could have been more on her...

Mrs. Weasley's moment of profanity was made of win.

And the epilogue. cheesy but satisfying.

There's tons more but these are the initial things that pop to mind.

Really it is a damn good book and a very satisfying ending to the series.

names his middle son Albus Severus (although, poor kid!)

LOL, I totally thought that too. I know the wizarding world is full of funky names but the other kids are named James and Lily--poor Albus gets both funky names!

I had heard that she was providing a more detailed epilogue to help fill in the details; I'll have to track that down now. I'd love to hear more about what happened to each of the characters. I know why she had to keep it short for the narrative, but I'm still curious :)
