My quick (and spoilerific) two cents on HP7

So, for the record, I cried three times...
cried for dobby
cried for Harry's deathwalk to the forest (A LOT of crying here)
cried for the headmaster portraits congratulating harry

I LOVED all the house-elf bits: that Kreacher just needed the right attention from Harry et al, and that Dobby went out like such a hero, and that Kreacher led a revolt of house-elves in the Hogwarts Battle

Liked that Snape and Dumbledore had planned the death beforehand (which was my first thought when I read book 6). The backstory on his longstanding love for Lily was good too.

Totally enjoyed all the mythology leading up into the Horcruxes vs. Hallows debate for Harry. Was a little less excited about the gobs of attention paid to Dumbledore-and-his-flawed-past, but I liked the Hallows bits.

I got all excited every time I heard about Ginny (or Neville or Luna) and their off-camera resistance exploits. Wish there could have been more on her...

Mrs. Weasley's moment of profanity was made of win.

And the epilogue. cheesy but satisfying.

There's tons more but these are the initial things that pop to mind.

Really it is a damn good book and a very satisfying ending to the series.

i really only got misty at one part and that was Harry's death march. I thought it was perfect and oh so sad. I did cry out loud and almost threw the book after a few parts. Like dobby's death and Snape's (although I was sure that was going to happen)

I love the lily/snape backstory we got and I hate that I already know that they'll cut like 3/4 of it for the movie. I like the concrete connection jkr makes between the 3 Hogwart's boys: Harry, tom riddle and snape, and that connection is weakening throughout the films. Each boy came from similar backgrounds finding a home at hogwarts but it has been their actions that have made them who they are good, evil, or otherwise.

i enjoyed the book though.

I really enjoyed the book, even the over attention paid to Dumbledore, yet at least it gave a reason behind why he's always been so cryptic about everything.

Loved the Snape part and that Harry names his middle son Albus Severus (although, poor kid!).

I liked the epilogue (agree it was corny) but would have liked a little more detail. Then again, I get why she did it. You go on any of her sites and she's telling more details and talking about writing an encyclopedia, that one way to get around only 7 books and having ppl come back for more!

Glad Hermoine and Ron finally got together although I would have liked some more of them especially after waiting so long!

I didn't cry or even get misty, but I did get really sad at all of those parts, and the fact that Fred, Tonks and Lupin died! GRRR.
