A bunch of ramblings in which I attempt to prove that I sometimes watch/squee/obsess about shows besides BSG...and manage to horribly abuse the exclamation point. My apologies to the #1 button on my poor laptop.

VM:
I actually did like several parts of VM S3, mainly the ones that had a lot of Mac banter or Logan snark, and appealed heavily to my nerd pride. So my two faves for this season were...

Show me the monkey
Mac is cute and flirty with the adorkable boy! And she makes nerdy computer and comic jokes--yay!
Veronica is bitter and prickly and sarcastic but in the wonderful charming way that only she can pull off!
Mac/Veronica=buddy-cops 4 evah!
Mac and Parker host a Canada party for the dorm's international night! That's what I'm talking ABOOT!
Dick takes polaroids under his robe and throws them down at little old ladies!
There's an adorable monkey!
AND...the best moment of actual Logan/Veronica chemistry for the whole season...the Logan-kicks-the-door-shut-behind-them-while-never-letting-go smooch of awesomeness.

and...

Poughkeepsie, Tramps and Thieves
Max is the cutest most adorkable side character ever! And he nerds out about BSG so much!
The escort search engine!
Lots of adorable Logan/Veronica stuffing their faces together moments!
Boys who paint their SO's toenails FTW!!!
Did I mention that Max is the cutest ever?

Smallville:
Justice
The superhero team dynamic of this episode was fabulous! I loved all the individual superheroes and their collective effect was kick ass. Great cheesy comic-book style banter (and more than a little slashy subtext between several heroes--yay!!) and AWESOME action sequences.
Plus, Lex was in excellent form for the villain for this ep.
This one might actually be my favorite ep to rewatch of Smallville EVER. It's just so damn fun!

and...

Noir (I didn't actually post myself on this one so I'll refer y'all to Boppy's brilliance)
I loved this one for several reasons, but again mainly just because the episode was really fun. It was like one long crackvid of the Smallville universe translated into a gorgeous B&W noir detective show. Jimmy was great for the dry detective voice-overs. I loved Chloe as the super-sharp working girl. The sordid affair between Clark and Lana was delicious. And it LOOKED AMAZING. The lighting, the visual effects, the costumes, the props--even the cars looked just perfect. It was bad-ass.

And speaking of both Veronica Mars and Smallville, I read a rumor on the interwebs that Kristen Bell might be cast as Supergirl for Smallville's season 7--which would probably make me squee a whole lot. Kara/Supergirl is supposed to be very sassy/snarky and I think KB could really pull it off.

Still not ready to name my "fave episodes" for The Office or Battlestar or Lost yet, but I haven't had time to completely rewatch the last season for those shows either.

And I still have to watch the last four episodes of Heroes, including the finale. *hides in shame*

***

The L Word (I finally bought myself season 3 and I watched it all in a marathon--now I am blissfully d/l'ing all of season 4--yay!!!) :
So many bit characters on the S3 of the L Word were also on Battlestar! Tigh is Dana's dad. The dude who was in the resistance who bartends at Joe's talks to Bette at a bus-stop. Elosha the crazy priestess is a Jamaican nurse in the hospital. Leoben was an evil manipulative husband of an in-the-closet documentarian. And there's more that I can't remember right now.

Also...witness the insane number of cross-over actors between BSG and Supernatural in this amazing picspam over at [livejournal.com profile] noway_icons.

So to wrap up this post of randomness, I want to rec the New Zealand folk parady duo "Flight of the Concords". They are like Tenacious D with adorkable accents and a much broader subject/musical range. The cute brunette of the duo is also going to be in the upcoming movie Eagle vs. Shark. (think a romantic comedy for extremely awkward and poorly socialized people along the lines of Punch Drunk Love or Napoleon Dynamite). Check out some of their live comedy skits/songs here on YouTube.

And in vidding land, I am two-thirds of the way through what is quite possibly the most cracked-out crackvid I have EVER made. I'm now thinking that there's a good reason why I never attempted to vid techno/remixes before, and I think this vid going to give either my lovely beta or me seizures before I'm through with it. Or be the most awesome thing ever invented in the history of crack. Jury's out still.

It makes me realize the completely unreasonable amount of affection I have for all my BSG actors when I totally squee about seeing them on screen for like five seconds in another show
Oh I know, me too! I saw a preview the other day for 'Kyle XY' that featured Racetrack from BSG. I flipped out! Over Racetrack! I think she's going to be a bad guy for all of the second season, so, fun!
