Wow, I suck at being able to post every day--but this way you get your vid recs in batches instead :D
Day 1 - A vid that made you start watching a brand new show
Day 2 - A male character study vid you love
Day 3 - A female character study vid you love
Day 4 - An ensemble vid you love
Day 5 - A vid everyone should see at least once
Day 6 - A vid you've watched at least ten times. This one is hard because pretty much every vid I LOVE, I've watched more than ten times easily--I tend to rewatch a lot.
Improper Dancing by
marycrawford - I'm picking this one because I have fallen in love with it in so many different ways during rewatchings. It is amazingly fun and happy-making. It has so many shows/characters I love. It is a BRILLIANT example of well-vidded internal motion. You get the idea :)
Day 7 - A constructed reality/crossover vid you love - both SPN vids for this one
One Year Only by
gigglemonster - Dean only has one year left to live. AMAZING angst and action AU vid using source from seasons 1 and 2.
Channel Surfing by
ash48 and
maichan808 - Unbelievably brilliant and fun. Superb crack vidding. "The boys watch more TV. Audio from Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries, Precioso, Dexter, CSI Miami, ESPN, Lost, Full House, Laverne & Shirley, Parks & Recreation and Gilmore Girls."
Day 8 - A vid you had to watch multiple times to understand
White America by Anonymous - Very controversial vid that a lot of people discussed, both the vid itself and its commentary on fandom. I can't speak for anyone else but it made me think a lot about how problematic the actions of major characters like Spike, Veronica and Dean can be--and how much my reading of whether their sins are forgivable or not is informed by race, narrative privilege, and beauty. What is the difference between an anti-hero/trouble-maker and the bad guy? Why do I absolve some problematic behavior and not others?
Unnatural Selection by
charmax - Fascinating and gorgeous visual commentary on survival of the fittest in the humans vs robots struggle: "That body was made to look like a person. We were made in God's image." It took a several viewings to unpack all of the images and ideas (and there's a whole layer to the vid that I'm not getting since I've never seen TSCC). Still very thought-provoking along the 'well, do humans DESERVE to survive?' vein.
Day 9 - A vid that makes you cry
Day 10 - A vid that makes you laugh
Day 11 - An anime/animated vid you love
Day 12 - A relationship vid you love
Day 13 - Your "pick me up" vid of choice
Day 14 - A mood vid you love
Day 15 - A vid (by someone else) that has defined a con or period of time for you
Day 16 - A vid that told you something new about a show/movie you already loved
Day 17 - A vid you wish you had made
Day 18 - A vid that made you investigate that vidder's other work further
Day 19 - A movie vid you love
Day 20 - A narrative vid you love
