Podfics
I've heard back from two of my three [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti bidders on their final podfic requests/selections and am making plans to start reading like crazy soon: one is a gen Supernatural story and one is a noir detective SGA au (neither of which I've ever read or heard of before, but both sound good to me). Sadly, cold/allergies stole my voice for most of this week (I even had to have my coworker cover my storytimes at work, boo cold!), but it feels like it's almost back for good and then I can start recording.

Big Bang
I haven't started writing for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang either. I'm still wayyyyy intimidated by the length, but I've got two possible stories and both are outlined in pretty good detail. Not sure how to choose, so maybe I'll write a scene or two from each story and see which one flows more smoothly right now? We've got Jensen is a florist who does Jared/Genevieve's wedding (based on Imagine Me and You) and angst/UST + smut/schmoop ensues, versus Jared is a children's librarian who meets hot single dad Jensen and angst/UST + smut/schmoop ensues (based on my love of storytime, kids books and cute parents covered in craft glitter). Votes/comments/preferences?

Vidding
I'm in the thinking/planning/gathering clips stage for a couple of vids too: the ones at the forefront are a Ronon-centric action vid for SGA (I really want to vid action!Ronon in honor of the whole Conan movie thing SOON) and a dancey multi-show time/space travel one too (probably mostly BSG, both Stargates and some Dr Who) that I'm thinking about submitting for a con. [livejournal.com profile] festivids was such an awesome experience and my muse is all happy-go-lucky and energized from the feedback, so I want to get going on one or both soon. There are other projects though that have a deadline (podfics and bigbangs, ahoy!) and I need to not get distracted from those by shiny happy making vidding...

Knittery
And last but not least, there are knitty projects afoot! I made my first full knitted thingamabob for [livejournal.com profile] pyrex_11's birthday: a regular garter stitch scarf out of a pretty variegated pink yarn.

Next birthday knitting project is much more ambitious! I'm going to make [livejournal.com profile] sundancekid a three-piece green set of scarf + wrist-warmer + hat in a dinosaur theme. Working on the scarf first, and then tackling the more complicated/scary wrist warmers and hat next. I've practiced knitting on four needles for round stuff, but haven't done a whole project. Nervous but excited!

In other delightful news, [livejournal.com profile] sundancekid has successfully seduced me into a love of Dr Who, both doctors nine and ten, so hit me with your recs! Favorite episodes, awesome fics, amazing vids--all of the above--I wants them!

Also, delurking amnesty!

Today has been declared lurker amnesty day! Have you read me but never commented? Do you surf by occasionally? Here for the vids? Say hello! You are under no obligation to ever comment or delurk again, but here's a chance to do so in a post just for that.

Thanks! It turned out pretty well; a few holes and dropped stitches, but not bad for a first complete project :D

oh bb, I want you to be warmer! I wish my skills were faster/better and I already had the wristwarmers for you because good wristwarmers make such a HUGE different in comfort at cold work/home. Soon, hopefully soon!

Yay for knitting! That scarf looks lovely. I've been in a very knitterly mood lately; just finished my first pair of socks and went to a SuperBowl yarn sale and got lots of pretty pretty yarn.

I SEE YOU'RE LISTENING TO AWESOME SONG.

I rarely read fic (had to cut it off after it took up too much of my time), but here are some episode recs:

Nine: "Father's Day," "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances" (my favorite of the series!) and the finale
Ten:
Series 2: "The Christmas Invasion," "School Reunion," "Doomsday"
Series 3: "Gridlock," "Human Nature/The Family of Blood" (my second favorite in the series), "Blink," "Utopia," "The Sound of Drums"
Series 4: "The Fires of Pompeii," "Midnight," "The Stolen Earth"

Yay knitting! Knitting in the round on double point needles is a bitch, but it's probably good to do at least one object that way, especially as all hats eventually make you go to 4 needles anyway. After that, you can move on to circular needles, which, for me, is much easier to manage.

Dude, Doctor Who... I could go on and on forever. I will attempt to contain myself for the purposes of like, not boring the shit out of you.

Episodes

S1: "The End of the World", "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances", "Boomtown" (I'm kind of alone in liking this so much? But I think it's awesome), "Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways"

S2: Tooth and Claw, School Reunion, The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, Army of Ghosts/Doomsday

S3: Smith & Jones, and honestly, the whole back half of S3, from Human Nature through The Last of the Time Lords, is a solid as hell.

S4: All of it. Seriously. If I have to pick favorites, I would say "The Planet of the Ood", "The Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead", "Midnight" and "Turn Left/Stolen Planet/Journey's End"

I like all the specials (Christmas specials and the year of specials) except The Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead.

Fic

I haven't read Doctor Who fic regularly in a while, and my delicious recs are so old, I don't know if I still like those fics, if you know what I mean? However, off the top of my head:

Comes the Physical - a short, gorgeous gen piece with Martha and the Doctor and the marvel of Time Lord biology.

Five Times After Goodbye - a story that is a bit dated as it was written before Martha set foot in the TARDIS onscreen, if I remember correctly, but I still love it.

The Hypothetical Love Affair - The not love affair of the Doctor and Donna Noble. a "Midnight" post ep, I think?

Downtime - This is a "missing scene" fic of the time that elapsed between "Christmas Invasion" and "New Earth". Rose is coming to terms with the Doctor's regeneration and the Doctor's figuring out what kind of man he is.

All my saved Doctor Who fic links are here. There's a LOT of Doctor/Master and a good bit of Doctor/Martha and Doctor/Rose, and some decent gen fic (love love love me some good solid gen fic). I might be mortified at the stuff I saved back in the day if I look too closely, as my tastes have surely changed, so like, don't judge. ;)

Vids

For Doctor Who, it's a no brainer. If you love the Tenth Doctor (or even if you don't), you have to watch Handlebars. It's seriously one of my favorite vids of all time.

Here are my Doctor Who vid links. Some are better than others. I'll usually watch just about anything becuase I hope to one day force myself to vid something. :)) There are some good VVC vids in there, too.

Er...that's it? :))
