I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, I promise :)
Summer reading club is OVER as of tomorrow and my life will go back to a normal pace. In other words, YAYYYYYYYYYY! I love my job, and I love summers, but I am very glad that they only last two months because I am majorly pooped out by the end.

I have been DEVOURING the Sookie books. I'm all caught up on the True Blood tv show (very much enjoying that still), and my neighbor was kind enough to loan me books 1-8. I've read the first 6 in the last 7 days and I'm pretty sure I'll have blown through the rest of them by next week. There is nothing like the rush of getting sucked into a really really good series. So good!
In addition to True Blood, I am currently watching and fangirling Leverage, Warehouse 13 and So You Think You Can Dance. I love Hardison/Eliot/Parker, I love the Bones-like snark and tension of the leads in Warehouse 13, and I loooooooove good dance choreography like nothing else so I have really been enjoying SYTYCD this season.

I guess it's about time that I confess that the finale pretty much killed my fannish interest in BSG. I'm still watching vids as they pop up on my flist, but my desire to read fic or create anything fannish of my own for BSG has waned. The finale was an incredibly disappointing resolution for pretty much all of my favorite characters and, if I'm honest with myself, I'm not over that. When I rewatch the series, I'm pretty sure that I'm mainly going to watch seasons 1-3 and revel in the awesomeness of My Girl in her prime.
This doesn't mean that I don't adore the hell out of all my BSG flisters, and I'm still sticking around to see where all of our future interests take us :) *hugs to all*

I am more excited for Supernatural to come back in the fall than ever.
I was once overwhelmed by the size and scope of SPN fandom, especially after the coziness and familiarity of VM and BSG fandoms, but I am REALLY enjoying playing in the fandom now.
The
spn_j2_bigbang entries this summer have been awesome, and I have had so much fun devouring good RPF and good vids/art. Also been enjoying the hell out of rec'ing for
crack_impala too.
As much wank and weirdness as SPN fandom has sometimes, I am really happy hanging out and really enjoying getting to know y'all better :)

Also really excited for Glee, Bones, Dollhouse and Castle this fall! I've got all the premieres marked on my calendar like the fanglorious nerd that I am. (And, of course, I will be excited when Lost decides to show up on my tv again in early 2010).
So many awesome people going to be on Dollhouse this fall! We already have Tahmoh, but adding in Bamber AND Hogan? I just love that Whedon is a huge nerd himself :)

Enough tl;dr for now! There is a ginormous vids/bigbang/fanart recs post to follow shortly, wheeee!

Date: 2009-08-02 08:53 pm (UTC)I am sad about what the BSG finale did to so much of the fandom. I also was affected. First s3 VM killed off any desire to write for that fandom, and now the BSG finale has done the same. Why do all of my most favorite shows have to crap out in the end?
Dude, AGAIN I WILL SAY THIS! I will be seeing you in really-real person in October! I think I'll even be buying my plane ticket soon, to make it all official-like (and for the cheaperness (TOTALLY a word) aspect). Then we can fangirl all of our various shows together OMG. (So excited for more WH13, Glee, new SPN, new Dollhouse, and more Leverage! And also the slew of potential awesome hopefully to be found in V and various other new shows. Methinks we will be watching A LOT of TV this winter. ;)
*hugs*

Date: 2009-08-03 12:36 am (UTC)I feel the same about BSG. It's just pretty much dead unforturnately.
I just started watching several shows. I'm on S1 of Torchwood, Leverage and Chuck.
Are you a fan of Mad Men? S3 starts soon and I'm really excited about that.

Date: 2009-08-03 06:28 am (UTC)Leverage and Warehouse 13!! Oh my god Love!!! can get enough of these two right now.
BSG finale. Well I've been living in my lovely land of dinial and haven't watched the last 4 episodes off of my DVR yet. I may need the space they're takeing up soon, so maybe I'll be watching them sooner than I thought. Haven't really heard what happened in them yet though. Thankfully!
Welcome to the craziness of Supernatural fandom! It does get a little ridiculous sometimes. I generally try to avoid the crazier parts myself.
OMG yes Bones and castle and Dollhouse!! I just heard about the Dollhouse casting spoilers right before I saw this post! How awesome is that though!!! I can't wait to see the new season and I really really really hope i get to see that lost episode soon!
I just love that Whedon is a huge nerd himself :) Yes OMG yes I love that about him! Kripke can be like that too sometimes. It's great.
*runs off to finish online so I can go to bed*
