boomqueen: (BSG - Kara - gratuitous cleavage!)

In which I pledge eternal devotion to whoever was the DP for this episode because I have never seen everyone look SO DAMN GORGEOUS all at once. Seriously. The pretty was almost painful. LOVE--not terribly coherent but I can promise a bunch of rambly squee!

For starters: Helo has the prettiest waist in the history of menfolk. Wow. And hello pretty pretty Sam.

How did Tigh know not to fire? I must know!

I love Natalie! She's crazycakes but she's intense and powerful. Still don't really get her motivations though. I guess the desire to find and reconnect with the final five outweighs the desire to continue resurrecting. Because God will bless them for achieving a greater purpose? Because they're weary of resurrecting when life doesn't have as much meaning as it would if they were fulfilling a higher purpose? I'm just shaky on the motivation--doesn't quite connect. ETA: nevermind. Mortality is a higher purpose than immortality--being stranded without a download option opened their eyes. Got it now.

Pretty damn sure the final five aren't going to want to go with the cylons when all is said and done! Tory and Tigh weren't looking to keen on being pawns the human/cylon-rebel alliance strategy. Have I mentioned lately how much I love the ongoing irony of having the Dylan Four being totally human-identified cylon-hating cylons. LOVE IT.

"Charter member of the nymph squad." Best line of the episode. And that sure ratchets the Tory/Roslin femslash angst level several thousand degrees. Of all the things Tory could lose in becoming a cylon and/or beliving in Baltar's message, Roslin's respect and trust is going to be the hardest for her.

Gaeta singing! Alessandro has the prettiest voice!

"to indulge in the neediness of twelve perpetually unhappy representatives". Damn. Whoever gets to write Roslin's lines this season deserves the award for All-around Best Snark.

Okay, so at the beginning of the ep, I wasn't loving Lee the Boy Scout Politician nearly as much as Lee the Boy Scout CAG. But! Now I'm totally loving Lee the Boy Scout Pilotician. That scene in sickbay with Roslin was awesome. He is so sensitive and perceptive sometimes. *smishes my emo!Lee* Sometimes all those feelings do him well.

And OMG Lee was totally checking Kara out in the press conference!!! That was the first time they've been in the same room since the smooch of awesomeness in the brig, right? TENSION Y'ALL. Serious and amazing pining and UST.

So now Roslin has complete faith in Kara and thinks she was/is destined to lead the fleet? The vote of confidence is nice but way to flip-flop Roslin. Or she thinks Kara might be a cylon but it's a good strategy anyway? *scratches head confusedly*

What was Kara seeing?!? What did it mean when she looked at Roslin all freaked out? I MUST KNOW.

Kara looks so radiant I cannot contain myself. MOST BEAUTIFUL EVER.

Though Grace really gave her a run for her Battlestar Beauty Pageant title. That shot of Sharon with the gun hovering over the dead Natalie with the ship lights haloing around her? Gorgeous.

So wait, who all was on the base ship when the hybrid jumped it away? Roslin, Gaius, Helo, the Leoben, the Eight, who else?

Is Adama going to jump the fleet and/or Galactica to save Roslin? Who knows. Because Hello Romo! Gah for two weeks!

TWO WEEKS!
I can't even...TWO!
Oh man the pretty was on overload tonight I could hardly stand it!
I was on the edge of my seat the whole time - it's probably gonna take at least those two weeks to get my squee back to a normal level where I can actually handle another episode! ;)

GAETA! Such a beautiful voice wow

TWO WEEKS IS TOO LONG DAYL. Cannot cope.

But the pretty was just amazing, so I'm sure some serious rewatching will tide me over for at least part of it.

GAH!

That scene? Exactly what I was hoping for out of Lee's shift from the military to politics. It almost felt like season one Lee and Roslin, except layered with all the angst and growth and weariness of the last four (?) years. This is the Lee I love. But it only works for me because he's not just swept in and been the little darling. Roslin's smacked him down a few times, too.

Good point. I'm glad his cred is a bit more established, and that his effect on Roslin is purely his own and not owing to his father or his rank.

It totally reminded me of S1 Lee/Roslin too. But with a metric ton of angst on top of everything. Which is always good ;)

OMG, that episode completely broke my brain! I'm amazed you were able to be even that coherent! :) I'm still all whaa? at the moment.

How did Tigh know not to fire? I must know!
How did Tigh know not to fire? I must know!

You know, every once in a while, Tigh is just awesome. This was true even before all this final five crap. Soemtimes, his instincts are just dead on, for no reason other than he's the awesome Col. Tigh.

Pretty damn sure the final five aren't going to want to go with the cylons when all is said and done! ... Have I mentioned lately how much I love the ongoing irony of having the Dylan Four being totally human-identified cylon-hating cylons. LOVE IT.

Oh, I know. They were all like, "Look away! Look away! Make shifty eyes now..."

Oh, and I couldn't believe when they had Gaeta singing. It's like they made a deal with AJ: "Ok, we're gonna take Gaeta's leg. But on the flipside, you get to sing!"

Poor Gaeta. I really wish they hadn't taken his leg. What's it going to prove? Really? I mean, I get Tigh's eye patch as a visible reminder of NC, but what's the point of a peg leg? It's not like they're going to devote time to Gaeta adjusting to life without a leg. They've got bigger fish to fry. It's very frustrating.

Anyway, awesome to read your squee, coherent or not. :)

Poor four cylons are desperate NOT to be discovered, and everyone is bustling all around them trying to figure it out. But they didn't make any formal plans in their meeting for how to avoid it did they? So they're just going to hope it doesn't work out?

And AJ's singing was made of win. Now I wish that there was enough cast, and episodes to spare, in the series to have a whole musical episode. HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE.

but what's the point of a peg leg?

Could make him eligible for the pirate!cylon brigade =)

Lee was amazing in this episode. <3

About Roslin, I didn't get the impression that she has had a real turnaround with regard to Kara. But Kara's knowledge of the opera house was too important to ignore, and as Roslin said, the time has come to frakkin' figure out what all of this means. I think she's fed up with all the questions. I can't get over Kara's response to Laura, though. She seemed so genuine to me when she said she'd help her. Oh, piloticians, you were great tonight. Separate, but great.

And all I can think of after watching the promos for next week: If Adama takes Galactica (with Kara) away from Lee (again) Jo will have to smack a bitch.

Okay, that makes sense. I'd believe that Roslin still doesn't trust Kara as a human but it using her/going along with the plan to achieve the finding-Earth goal. That speech in the press conference about Kara's destiny just kind of threw me for a loop.

Poor pilots are going to get to be in the same part of the galaxy for very long at a time are they? Jeez!

How did Tigh know not to fire? I must know!

I think it was set up to show us the Final Five "just know" things, whether because they're programmed, or the same way that Kara seems to be guided now, or because they're avatars of these divine-like beings in the Opera House, or what have you. And if they're from Earth, it makes sense that their purpose is to help guide the humans there - hence Sam's actions last ep, and Tigh's in this one. My theory - because otherwise the odds of four particular people surviving the apocalypse are just too small.

Okay, so at the beginning of the ep, I wasn't loving Lee the Boy Scout Politician nearly as much as Lee the Boy Scout CAG.

He was a little over-caffeinated in that first scene. But awesome in the second. :)

What was Kara seeing?!? What did it mean when she looked at Roslin all freaked out? I MUST KNOW.

I think it hit her, when Natalie was talking about the importance of death, that she might be the harbinger of their deaths, in a good way. But! Notice how Natalie said Kara asked her to lead, and she accepted it, because it was destiny? Kara totally Harbinged her death! Noes! She just wanted someone other than Leoben to do the talking! This is very reasonable! *sob*

Good call about the internal programming/guidance with the Four cylons. There are a lot of well-timed coincidences with that group of people, and I'm sure we'll understand why later on (whether it's intuition or software or God, or all of the above!).

Haha, I totally need a hyper!Lee icon that says "over-caffeinated" on it!

Oh. I didn't think about Kara being the harbinger of Cylon death. Interesting. *ponders*

Nooo is evil with the two week gap!

Well there was a squadron on the flight deck of the baseship Rolin, Baltar, Helo, Leoben, the Eight, copies of the the cylons, centurions, the Hybrid and I'm not sure what else. Will be interesting to see where the jumped to. And how did they not think about the Hybrid taking control before they turned her back on???? Wonder what she'll have to say?

Now I have a desire to hear Alessandro, sing something were he can project and not have to act sick. I think it will be even more pretty. They did a really good job on the sick make-up!

All the womens were looking pretty kickass tonight!

I was all how did Hera get that big so fast? The last time we saw her she was in diapers. Having a time warp.

"Charter member of the nymph squad." snark FTW.

It's intersting watching how The Four deal with and think of what everyone else is making of them. Because I'm with you on not thinking that they will want to be turned over to the other cylons and leave the fleet. I think they are quiet happy where they are thankyouverymuch. And it is interesting that the rebel cylons idealize the Five while The Four don't think to much of cylons in general. Will be interesting to see what the Fifth cylon brings to the table. And you know one of The F our is going to try and keep De'anna from being unboxed!
