It's about damn time.

CANON BITCHES. For serious.

Granted, it's not Buffy/Faith (which remains irrefutable fanon for me), but Buffy is bi!!!

ETA: I guess I should really modify this to specify that I have always thought that Buffy was sexually fluid in her attractions and partners, and this just confirms that. I don't think it's a big fat ret-con, nor do I think Joss is trying to make any huge statement. I just think it's awesome that in his writing, regardless of format, he goes out of his way to show characters that fall along every part of the spectrum in both gender identity and sexuality. Yay for sexual progressiveness in mainstream pop culture!

In short: Teh Whedon wins. At everything. Including life.

Yes, The Whedon is indeed made of awesome. This is a lovely new addition to Buffy's many facets.

You know SO MANY people are gonna pull the 'Joss Whedon has a thing for lesbian sex' wank. I think he just likes to keep us on our toes.

WeeDiddy and I had a discussion about this last night. She did not think it was a positive thing that The Buffy is The Bi. She actually went on a rant. I disagreed with her though.

I think I'm going to hold off on my decision on whether I like this new turn of events or not. Because right now - putting the bi part aside - I am disliking Buffy for this, because it just seems like once more again she's sleeping with someone that she knows loves her but she herself will never love.

The part I'm holding off on hinders on whether or not I like how the relationship develops. I was never a fan of Willow/Kennedy. To me, Willow/Tara just seemed natural, it didn't seem contrived to make waves or to have the token gay character on a show which seems to be the way of shows these days. Willow/Tara was just meant to be. Whereas Kennedy always just felt thrown in to me and I never really got their particular pairing, but that's maybe just me.
