Multi-fandom Vid Recs

I'm just drooling at the prospect of all the Sweet Charity vids that are going to start popping up soon, but there have been tons of awesome vids recently to keep me busy.

1. stormwreath's Faith vid - "I Bet That You Look Good on the Dancefloor" by Arctic Monkeys. Clips from both BtVS and AtS. Lots of gorgeous and not-entirely-gratuitous Faith dancing clips with some hot Buffy/Faith tension and angst thrown in for good measure. Yay for all the awesome Faith vids I've discovered recently!!!


2. super_kc's Battlestar Inferno: So Ghetto, So Hood vid - "Inferno" by 50 Cent. There's NEEDS to be more awesome and cracktastic hip-hop vids for BSG y'all. This booty-shaking vid to 50 cent, full of pimped out pilots and hot lil mamas, is just MADE OF WIN. And I don't know what effect/texture KC uses for her BSG vids, but it's gorgeous!


3. In case you missed it, KC's Kara angst vid from a little while ago was pretty damn awesome too.


4. danegen's Angel/Connor/Spike vid - "Ruiner" by Nine Inch Nails. This vid does a fabulous job of drawing the visual and narrative parallels between Connor and Spike's relationships to Angel, as they both admire and hate him, and the many ways in which Angel(us) ruins things for them. ANGST!!!!!!!!


5. m_a_r_i_k_s has been quite prolific and fabulous lately too with the BSG vids. Her cracktastic Pilots vid to Alice Cooper's "I'm Your Gun" and her amazing multi-character meta vid about Earth are awesome!


6. dayln03's Sharon vid - Lay Me To Sleep from "Prelude 12/21" by AFI. Awesome use of timing and glow effects in this Boomer and Sharon angst vid. I first heard this song used to intense dramatic effect for Lex on Smallville last season, and it seriously sent chills all over. Seeing it used, and used WELL, for Sharon's character was just awesome.

Haha, you're right: it is more of a Buffy/Faith vid, than just a pure Faith vid.

And, amusingly, that omitted detail kind of reveals my prejudices towards Buffy/Faith, because in my personal canon that tension between them is just like a fact of existence.

Aw thanks! We're trying. I have to say that when we first got into the show we didn't really know what to make of the BSG fandom as the fen seem to be of a slightly different breed than the other fandoms that we're used to. We quickly got over it and just started doing... what we normally do. It's been awesome so far!

BSG fandom has been a little funky, or quiet if nothing else, for the last couple of months. I think hiatus-depression and/or hiatus-apathy has struck a lot of the BSG regulars. If you guys are still around in the fandom when the show comes back on the air, you'll have a blast. That's when things get really fun :D

And I'll be thrilled to see more vid/fics/graphics from you guys in the meantime!

Gah, that song was so PERFECTLY used at the end of that ep, it was a little scary. For all the things I whine about with Smallville, they're so often dead on about picking fantastically and apropos music.

That song was _so perfect_ for evil!Lex. And you're right about Smallville's music selection: there are several songs that I first heard on the show that I will ALWAYS associate with a certain character or scene now.
