I had a completely fabulous birthday full of decadence and debauchery...and I received a bewildering amount of birthday-love from you lovely ladies on my f-list. So I thought I would return the love a bit with some music goodies.

DJ J's birthday dance mix
...aka "Songs to pack up my house to"
...aka "Why yes I listened to non-stop synthpop in the 80's, it is that obvious?"

Download the zip file for the tracks and cover art is here.

Check out the track list:

And another little music prezzie. This one is for [livejournal.com profile] nebakanezer. I promised her a mix of my favorite Nine Inch Nails songs to expand her repertoire. This has a little bit of everything from their entire discography, including albums and singles. Enjoy!

Download the NIN zip here.

I do have several fannish works under way but they are kind of on hold for the next few weeks. My next three vids are going to be a Kara/Lee angst-fest to "Naked" by Tracy Bonham, my first Helo/Sharon crackvid (oh, this one is going to be good! I just have to build up all the stock footage first...), and a gen BSG crackvid to "Humans are dead" by Flight of the Conchords (this one is [livejournal.com profile] wisteria_'s idea and I just barely found a decent audio file for it to start working with, yay!).

W00t! Birthdays! Music! Crackvids! Life is good :)

You are such a doll to share goodies when it's your birthday! I don't know too many of the songs on the first one but you have NEVER let me down with your music offerings! Have I told you lately how frakking awesome I think VAST is? I shared it at work and they loved it. And NIN for moi? Aw! sweet! :*

Thanks! :)

Yay for VAST-love! I wish their later albums were as good as that first one, but I still listen to the first one all the time. So good!

NIN however definitely deserves representation from more than one album :) Pretty Hate Machine (that's the one you already have, right?) is probably the most radio-friendly of their albums, but I know you like the harder/louder/rockier stuff too so I put a big variety on there. Just returning the favor from all the lovely music you've thrown my way :D

Yup, Pretty Hate Machine is the one I have, I've already uploaded my ipod for the trip. Yay new music! :)

I may have some more musics up my sleeves for you :) I thought of several other bands you would probably dig while I was listening to my ipod today (if you don't already have them of course...)

bomp bomp bomp - I've already snagged the NIN and am in process of stealing the bday dance mix! woo! I'm thoroughly enjoying the NIN one (I confess I mostly listen to pretty hate machine, although I believe I own the downward spiral as well). I dig this music although man, it also reminds me of my extremely emo roommate from soph. year in college; and he was emo not in the sense of emo music, but just totally emo acting (emo expressed through repeated listening to one depressing song for weeks on end and moping; totally ruined pearl jam and some NIN for me).

I'm doing stuff at work, woo! Well, meetings and shadowing on the desk but hey, it's something, my calendar is not all blankses! Also, much joy, I get to go to a lyberrian conference in Monterey in October (and am assuming will receive some help to do so). Yay for jobs!

Hola darling D! The NIN has some stuff on it that definitely leans more towards rock/industrial, but I hope you enjoy/some most of it anyways. And the dance mix is just crazy fun--I have a feeling you'll like that one :D

UGHS. yes music can so easily be ruined by the wrong person/station playing it OVER AND OVER again. Poor poor Pearl Jam deserves better ;)

And yay for having things to do at work! Productivity can be so happy-making (as can finishing the evil RDA paper of DOOM, which I handed in on Sunday w00t!).

What kind of the lyeberry conference in October? Monterey is sooooooooooooo pretty. I am highly jealous already. You must get over your camera-phobia and take MILLIONS of pictures for me.
