I've been a bit absent from LJ the last little bit (packing up my house and getting ready to move across town=entirely too much work...), but I come bearing a good chunk of rec's for some fantastic recent Galacticrack and crack from other fandoms.

Vids and fic and picspams, oh my!

Crackvids:

[livejournal.com profile] pennyfeline's BSG crackvid to Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" here. I frakking love good BSG crackvids and I don't care who knows!!!

A Buffyverse crackvid to "Footloose" here. It features my favorite Angel-is-a-spaz sequence from AtS season 1, as well as many other amusing dancey moments from both Buffy and Angel. I'm so going to have to buckle down and vid some Buffyverse one of these days...

Crackfic:

[livejournal.com profile] alissabobissa's "Nice Arms" here. Lee, Sam and Helo all get caught comparing arm sizes with several alternate endings to choose from. Fabulously crackish!

[livejournal.com profile] nicoleanell's "Like Rogue Unicorns" here. Gaius/Six crack in which Baltar, Caprica six (and their head!counterparts) all get married and have bunches of real and imaginary children. Completely over the top and insanely funny!

[livejournal.com profile] velvetmace's "Tetris Pr0n" here. This one isn't new but it's new-to-me and it just killed me. The name says it all folks: pr0n about tetris. You have to read to believe it.

Crack picspams:

I think most of y'all probably already saw the LOL-pilots crack picspams from a few weeks ago, but just in case...

[livejournal.com profile] wisteria started it here. Make sure to read ALL the comments because the picspamming just keeps on going there!

And then [livejournal.com profile] dionusia and I just couldn't resist! Here and here.

And I've got tons more crack from other older posts and other fandoms tagged over at my del.icio.us. Read! Frolick! Enjoy! Spread the crackish love :)

I didn't realise you were moving. I don't envy all the hard work ahead of you. We've moved several times over the years and it's always such a huge effort and very exhausting.

Yes, very exhausting! But also fairly satisfying after really productive days like today. I think this is the first time we have ever been so far ahead of schedule, so I'm hoping we'll be able to just coast through the next couple of weeks without too much effort.

I definitely like the being-in-a-new-place part a lot more than the lifting-heavy-things-and-packing-boxes part though ;)

Moving! Boo! Although it sounds like you are being a smarty and getting movers (oh, why oh why did I go with the do it yourself approach? My dad and I just about died hauling all my crap up to my apartment - including 8 file boxes of boxes, so heavy!). There's something about moving that always makes me want to chuck a good portion of what I own.

Heh, in fannish news, I have converted both of my parents to BSG. My mom had previously been interested, and had in fact Tivo'd most of S3; while I was home I conveniently "found" a S1 set for her, and then convinced her to start watching; we sucked my dad in before the miniseries was over. We did some quality watching on the 4th, up until Kobol's last gleaming; I talked to them today, and they're already starting S2.5! hahaha. And they're funny too - my mom is a total spoilerphobe, and my dad's a spoilerwhore, which makes it really entertaining to watch with them.

(I have the internets again, yay!)

uh, yeah, that would be boxes of books! I'm pretty sure boxes of boxes would not be too heavy. Heh.

PS it is entirely too awesome that you have hooked your parents on BSG!!! And the spoilerphobe/spoilerwhore dichotomy cracks me up!

As crazy as it may seem to even try since I was SUCH a spoilerwhore last season...I think I might try going spoiler-free this time. It's going to be the last season and I want it to pack as much intensity/surprise as possible!

Yay for Dani-has-interwebs!

Moving is not so fun. And we probably aren't hiring movers after all...but we got most of the to-be-stored stuff out of the house and into a storage unit this morning, so really all we have to do now is have a garage sale for all the junk/furniture we're getting rid of and then move the stuff we're holding onto down south.

But, hey: You know what sucks more than moving? 'Research papers' about cataloging. First we have to write one--blech and double-blech--and then we'll have to read EVERYONE ELSE'S because she's putting questions on the final from them. Torturous and evil is what it is. At least it'll be over by the end of the month!

And then I fully intend to spend several weeks living in my parent's pool. The dogs can frolick freely in the yard. And S can bring me an endless parade of new books and drinks like a good little cabana boy.
