Lost is back!

Which meant two hours of watching and three hours of speculating with the Mr tonight. Who are the rest of the Oceanic Six? Was that Christian Shepherd in the chair in Jacob's shack? What is the exact chronology of all the flash-forwards we've seen so far? How do the flash forwards and the supposedly linear timeline on the island fit into Desmond's time loops? Was that a picture of young Eko on the wall of the old lady's house when Miles came to exorcise her grandson? Who was in the casket, and is their death what motivates Jack to tell Kate they've got to go back (since this seems to be after the basketball scene with Hurley...)? What does Hurley's hallucination of Charlie mean? Who is the skinny black dude that looks like the haitian from Heroes? Why do the Four Strangers want Ben? Of all the things that Locke could ask Ben, why does he ask about the smoke monster?

SO MANY QUESTIONS. And so few answers. But that's kind of what I like about the show.

And in addition to all the intrigue and mystery, there was all the heart-tugging woobie shit that I love too: more Sawyer/Jack/Kate angst, more Hugo and Claire crying over Charlie, more of Alex's indecision over whether to love or hate her father, more random tie-in's between bit and main characters that make you go "whoa, it's all interconnected".

Supernatural is back!

I wasn't too impressed with the first Mystery of the Week (hello, it was like The Craft for suburban thirtysomethings...) but it afforded many awesome Sam and Dean moments. Yay for Sam's increasing darkness and attempts to steel himself for a battle waged without Dean! Yay for Dean's increasing awareness of what awaits him in hell! Yay for all around angst-faces and bad-ass action for my Winchester boys!!!

And this week's ep was just awesome. The cinematography in the dream sequence was gorgeous (hopefully some pretty icons will pop up from that bit). And Sam should be sexually awkward and hilarious ALL THE TIME. Seriously, that shit with Bela just about killed me. Yay for Sam as lust-struck comic relief! Not to mention the OMG!Dean-aaaaaaaangst. "You're going to go to hell and this is what you'll become". Yikes!

Speaking of icons, I can definitely see some innuendo-ridden icons of the boys passed out on the beds in the hotel...

Most of all: YAY FOR DAMN GOOD DARK FANTASY. I've seen the trapped-in-nightmare/dream thing before (previously on SPN and Buffy) and the constructing-your-own-reality to fight the bad guys before (in the Matrix and Dark City, among others) so this isn't exactly a new one. But they still did it so well. Good premises and good character arcs make me a happy happy fantasy-lovin fangirl.

Smallville is back!

Lana slept with Bizarro! Now I'm waiting for a post-Faith/Riley type fall out. That closing scene with the water on the window and the Bed of Alienation was perfect.

And my pasty-faced Spike, all strung out and yet bad-ass looking. As the Mr put it: "Even when it's a small part he steals the scene. He's got presence." Also, the man has cheekbones like no other.

That scene with Lionel and Lex was killer. "It's you I have lost". The father-son angst is just supreme!

On a completely shallow note: I love it when Tom Welling throws his voice low when he's playing Red K Clark or Bizarro. It's freakin hot as hell. I could really read some Clark and/or Bizarro!Clark dirty-talking fic with that low voice in mind...*shivers*

And wow for the use of that Interpol song during the final scene where Lex just totally loses his remaining humanity/morality and admits that he will always be alone--brotherless and fatherless. WOW.

This show had absolutely no right to get this good again.

Bedtime now! Next I'm going to catch up on Chuck and the L Word, and hopefully I'll catch up on everyone else's Lost/SPN/Smallville posts this weekend too :)

I'm not reading because I'm saving up my Lost and SV eps until I finish Arrested Development. But *yay* for TV being interesting again!

I just heard they are planning an Arrested Development movie so I would definitely recommend catching up on all of them--so much fun!

I kind of like stock-piling episodes of shows until I have two or more at a time to watch. It makes it harder to squee at the same time as everyone else on LJ, but it's really satisfying to watch the plot unfold in more than one episode at a time. Kind of makes it easier to notice connections and clues in a bewilderingly complex show like Lost :)

I'll be here to squee with you whenever you catch up! *G*

I loved the last episode of Supernatural...is it bad that I want Dean to become a demon just so that he can be even sexier the dark eyes and further bad-ass-ness.

And I have got to agree with you Tom Welling's lowered voice.

Yum.

You really think it could be Christian Shepherd in the cabin? Like he is Jacob or he was with Jacob?

I stopped on the picture on the wall and at first we thought it was Walt. Kinda could make sense that they made it back to the US and something happened to Michael and he ended up with his grandmother and then was murdered and Jack went to see the casket. But it didn't look anything like Walt and that would really mess up the time of the flashback because ghost buster dude visited the grandmother when Jack was still on the island so Jack couldn't have gone to see the casket of that same person.

I was thinking it didn't make any sense that it was Eco because he wasn't murdered. Well kinda, but not really. And I assumed that he grew up in Africa. But it just occurred to me that the 'grandson' that they were talking about might not be anyone we know - not Walt or Eco. Of course that doesn't make sense as all the new!others flashbacks had to do with their connections to the island or the plane so uhm... I uh I got nothin'.

I totally thought of the Haitian too! Ha!

(who ever thought a dr who icon might come in handy when talking about lost? lol)
