Vid and fic recs galore

Sorry I've been so quiet! It's a bunch of things: I've been in vid-prep mode and working on a new crackpoem, my muse has been a cranky little jerk, my baby brother is staying with us (and requiring far too much 'parenting' for a 22 year old!), and I'm still adjusting to our current living situation (house-sitting=twice as many dogs to take care of and a ginormous house/yard to keep up with).

Anyways, I'm still here and I hope to have a bunch of shinies to show everyone soon. I HAVE been watching and reading a bunch though.

teh vid recs:
Most of them are the product of VividCon awesomeness, and I'm sure some of these have been rec'd by others, but I've got to give these amazing vids my full endorsement too:

• Starbuck - Cuz I Can by dualbunny . P!nk+Starbuck=OTP. I can't stop gushing about this one because it might be my favorite vid ever: the song choice is perfect for Kara, the visuals are amazing in the 'big shiny' version, her editing and technique are just astounding. /drooling gush-fest
• Y'all should also check out her awesome HP vid to Snakes on a Plane and her gorgeous but funny Spike vid here
  
• 300 - Vogue by Madonna by sockkpuppett . I can't believe how beautiful and funny this vid is. Some of the prettiest crack I've ever seen.
• Multi-fandom - Canadian Actor Bingo by barkley and others. See many of your favorite BSG and SPN (and SG and Farscape and Smallville and X-Files and many others) actors in a multitude of bad outfits! See Callum Keith Rennie's gorgeous smirk in a dozen different roles!
• Multi-fandom - Improper Dancing by marycrawford . Another awesome VVC one full of goofiness and dancing in many shows/movies that I love. (big fat bonus points for the clips from Danny Kaye's Court Jester!)
• Smallville - Map of the Problematique by Muse by Lexcelsior at Red K Rush. I think this one is just new-to-me but I love this song, I love [good] Clex and this whole vid is just gorgeous.

teh fic recs:

• Anyone who hasn't been reading becisvolatile 's amazing angst saga need to start right frakkin now.
• latteaddict has been writing some yummy one-shots (I'm particularly fond of the mischievious pilots in Almost).
• My partner-in-crack-crime dionusia has been writing awesome drabbles here , here and here .
• Speaking of crack, I found a fabulous BSG/Office crossover crack piece from a while back: The Pilot and the Specialist is made of win and should be read by all immediately.

Speaking of even more crack....be on the look-out for another post from me soon to pimp the hell out of our BSG crack comm. dionusia   and I will convert you all in the end!!!

This my first year experiencing the massive influx of gorgeous vids post-Vividcon so I'm totally enjoying the hell out of all the hard-work and pretties everywhere.

And I do have a couple of vids in the works. One is being particularly cranky so I think I'm putting it to the side for now (or waiting till I get really inspired). How about you? Any vid ideas percolating in that gorgeous brain of yours? :D

Yes, the post-VVC frenzy is quite amazing! I was around for it last year but just got overwhelmed. This year I feel like I'm taking it all in a bit more.

I have a couple of vid ideas, but mostly I'm still wrestling with the Lee Vid that Ate My Life. Basically I just keep making it denser and denser without actually improving it... I think someone needs to reign me in, but there's noone around to do so. huahahaha. If it ever sees the light of day it will be the most impenetrabla madness you've ever seen. I should be working on my K/L vid concept which is far more likely to be a crowd pleaser. ;)
