Few quick thoughts on tonight's BSG
Ooooh...pretty fuel shots. I love all the detail of the deck crew in the opening scene. Awesomeness.

OMG I love whatever voice/accent James was doing for the Aerilon dialect. That sent chills up my spine. And his snark was fab: "Perhaps you'll consider writing a blurb for my cover."

It was a good episode for accents and dialects all around: "Talking ABOOT improving living conditions." I love the canadian Chief!

Wow. I found the class politics a LOT more engaging than I expected. "One set of rules for the aristocracy and another one for the rest of us." The discussion between Baltar and Chief in the brig, the strike scenes on the refinery and the Chief's personal turmoil about how to handle the situation were all very intense. But the bow-tie ending was a bit off. Straight from the Admiral threatening to kill Caley and the Chief caving, to warm fuzzy talks with the President who is going to make everything all better? It's called PACING and smooth transitions, folks. Remember those?

Poor Seelix. "Important laundry." But she gets her wings!!!! Hmmm. I think she's having naughty thoughts about her bossy flight instructor. [Damn! Now I'm going to have to write some saucy Kara/Seelix as soon as I'm done with this Starbuck/Showboat fic...]

And the preview! I am so excited for a Kara-centric episode and so terrified at the same time. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

ETA: This was Jane Espenson's second episode writing for BSG and I liked it wayyyyyy better than 3.10 - The Passage. She was always one of my favorite writers/producers on Buffy, Angel and Firefly so I had VERY high hopes for her eps. I'll go ahead and attribute all of Baltar's excellent snark this time to her writing :)

VM: Mars, Bars
So many of my favorite B-characters in this ep: Lamb! Vinnie! Wallace AND Weevil (disproving my theory that only one of them was allowed to be in an episode at a time this season--WTF, writers?)!

Once again, I totally dug KB's crazy goofy physical humor in this episode. The way she delivered her lines when she was in jail totally cracked me up.

And Logan/Veronica were all friendly-like. Which didn't seem forced for once. Just cute banter.

Wallace get's the line-of-the-episode award for the "friend of dorothy" comeback line. I wonder how long RT has been saving that one for...

I loved the library!scenes in the scavenger hunt--[livejournal.com profile] wonderlandchick is right, it's like TV-pr0n for librarians! And the whole scavenger hunt was fun. Logan knows his sutras! "Wait...that's splitting of the bamboo, let me see the book". And he was adorable with the flirty snark at the lighthouse with Parker. I'm totally fine with them hooking up because she will actually bring out the FUN part of Logan (remember that, fandom? when Logan was fun?).

Hehe, Lamb calls Keith and Veronica "Neptunes favorite amateur crime-fighting duo".

Mac got laid! And it was happy/healthy/mutually-enjoyable. Very nice.

Ohnoes--Lambikins is dead! But, of course, I'm evil and as soon as Lamb was hurt I was busy cheering on the inevitable return of SHERIFF KEITH MARS--yeah baby! Total awesomeness.

Personal sidenote
So, my hubby made an extremely nerdy Star-Trek reference on his blog the other day, and I left a snarky comment for him mocking the aforementioned nerdiness. His response:

Just you wait -- soon I'll be making homemade fan videos of Picard and Data in the throes of a violent make-believe passion, created entirely from artfully clipped and re-edited episode footage. They will be lovers...oh, yes...their unrequited, previously unimagined gay space romp shall be exposed to the world via YouTube, and it shall all be set to the soothing musical stylings of Nickelback. It's like the lyrics are speaking to my SOUL!

Oh, wait...that's you.
