How much do I love that the cast gave Jamie a standing ovation for his monologue!
Squeeeeeee: the writers have already fleshed out the first nine episodes of season 4 and have a really good idea of where all the major story arcs for the season are starting out. yay!!! And in that vein, they already have the back-stories for the final four cylons all figured out so that they work within the existing storyline of the show. I think that's definitely going to be one of the best parts of S4--especially exploration of the whole "rules that apply to existing cylons don't necessarily apply to the new ones" idea.
Dude, RDM is SUCH a boomer--I couldn't help giggling when he talked about the many ways he has tried to work "All Along the Watchtower" into a teevee show.
Best line of the podcast: The writers keep teasing each other with Tigh enters: "Whoaaaaaa."
Okay, but WTF: originally Kara was going to reappear in Lee's quarters as he runs to get his flight suit and helmet. But they decided that was too supernatural--how would she get in there on Galactica? So they shot a different version where he encounters her in the viper, outside Galactica. I would have a million more unanswerable questions to burden this hiatus with if they had stuck to that first idea.
And then RDM answered one of my biggest questions about Kara and Maelstrom: finding the way to earth fulfilled her destiny.
Which led into the most squee-worthy line of the podcast: Her death doesn't have meaning but her RESURRECTION does.
He didn't go into any of the details of whether this is a literal or figurative resurrection, but this means 1) she did die, 2) she was resurrected (somehow), and 3) most importantly--she is really there. She's not Head!Kara, not a ghost, but really there. Woot!
Back to the land of neverending homework now...
