Badass ladies of space and time travel?

I've got a favor to ask of my brilliant and bounteous flist!

I have the most delighful vid bunny and I need your help: I would absolutely love it if everyone would comment with their favorite ladies of space and time travel.

I'm talking any sci-fi/fantasy movie (Contact, Hitchhiker's Guide, Star Trek, Supergirl, Barbarella, Star Wars, what else?) or television show (BSG, Stargate, Firefly, Doctor Who, and so many more!) with any element of space/time travel where it is the ladies DOING the badass stuff (not just sitting and looking cute with the maincharacterdude while he does badass stuff): Wormholes and time machines and spaceships galore!

Stargate: Carter! Teyla! Weir! What are your favorite episodes/scenes of awesomeness?
Doctor Who: so many companions and I've only watched like 4 episodes--help please!
Firefly: episodes where Zoe or River are badass, or when Inara is flying something?
Angel/Buffy: I've got an Illyria ep in mind, but what else?

And what other movies/shows am I not thinking of? What about Farscape, Heroes, Sliders, Torchwood, Twilight Zone, Star Trek tv?

Tell me your faves! Don't be afraid to mention specific characters or scenes. I need your help to make the awesomest vid ever :)

Doctor Who: all the female companions do badass stuff. Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy. I'd also add Sarah Jane Smith who was a companion in classic Who and was in a few New Who episodes and has her own show now. And River Song who's not exacly a companion but is badass.

In Torchwood they don't really travel in space/time, they deal with aliens here and now but if it's still relevant I'd suggest Gwen Cooper, especially in the Children of Earth episodes.

ETA: I realize now you need specific episodes/moments, right?

oh and for Firefly, Inara's pretty badass in the (few) scenes she has in Serenity! with the crossbow and making stuff explode

Yes, Farscape has many women doing awesome things related to space and time travel (the ship, Moya, is even female). For Aeryn flying the prowler, definitely try 1-22 and 2-22.

Sigourney Weaver in Galaxy Quest and the Alien movies.

Inara flies in the first episode, Zoe driving the mule is in Serenity. River wears a space suit in Objects in Space and in War Stories, I think, and she flies Serenity in the movie.

Denise Richards flies a ship in Starship Troopers.

I haven't seen Avatar, but Michelle Rodriquez does stuff, I hear? I think maybe there's space travel?

Farscape! Aeryn Sun! Some of my favorite badassery from Aeryn are in late season two: Liars, Guns, and Money. Of course, she's just plain badass whenever she's on screen, so you really can't go wrong.

Also Farscape, Zhaan is scary badass in season one's That Old Black Magic.

And then there's Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Sarah Connor could give Aeryn Sun a run for her money.

Some of these are more women generally being awesome in stuff that involves space travel, instead of women actually flying a ship through space being awesome, but here you go regardless!

Firefly/Serenity: in the movie, River taking out the Reavers at the end -- that shot of her, where it focuses on the blood dripping off the scythe (scythe!!) and she's surrounded by a pile of freshly-killed bodies. And Zoe, like, every single scene (I realize this is not that helpful, but she's a bamf on a regular basis -- ooh, although her going in after Mal and Wash in War Stories is one of my favorites). Petaline shooting YED!guy at the end of Heart of Gold with her baby in her arms. Inara teaching Mal to fence in Shindig. However many times Kaylee is waist-deep in the engine, fixing it. YoSaffBridge hacking Serenity.

Moar Christina Hendricks: her character from the Broken Bells (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVxTsXRjNTw) video she did.

Star Wars: Leia, the someone-has-to-save-our-skins moment! And sneaking in to save Han (regardless of how that actually goes down for her), and then taking out Jabba.

SGA: whatever ep it is (The Storm or The Eye, maybe?) where Teyla and Sora have that (smoking hot) knife fight. Pretty much anything where Teyla is kicking John's ass at stick fighting. I can't remember which episode it was, but the one where Teyla and Keller go to visit the Athosians off-world and hijinks ensue. The shot of Jeannie in McKay and Mrs. Miller doing calculations in fingerpaint.

anything from the last episode of the series The Middleman counts as time-travel awesome

Sigourney Weaver in Alien, Aliens (and hey Vasquez too!), and probably Galaxy Quest

the astronaut sequences in the anime film Millenium Actress
also, the anime character Queen Emeraldas in Star Blazers, the Queen Emeralas one-shot, Captain Herlock...many more

Sarah Connor in Terminator 2
