Things I am currently excited about

I've been having a hard time watching TV synchronously with when it airs, so I feel like I've been missing out on a lot of the post-episode squee for several of my favorites. But! I have been watching stuff and keeping my eye on the flist.

Castle: I lovedlovedloved the Halloween episode. Mal!Castle was adorable. And I love the family chemistry he has with his mother and daughter. Seriously, that is such a cheesy show--and the writing doesn't really stand out from other crime procedurals--but the chemistry of the whole cast totally makes it! [and I would probably watch Le Fillion read the phone book as long as he promised to smirk a lot...]

So You Think You Can Dance: My favorite dancer (Billy) disappeared but I'm still really enjoying all the adorable dancers and the shiny choreography. Don't really have any favorites picked out yet. Just enjoying the ride.

V: Just watched the pilot and totally enjoyed it. It had a lot in common with the original, though they sped up several plot points and the visuals were 100% shinier/less-cheesy than the 80s version. Looking forward to seeing where that goes!

Glee: This show has completely taken over my heart. I love them all so much. Well, let me qualify that: I love all the KIDS so much, I adore Sue Sylvester with the fire of a thousand suns and I love Will Schuester 90% of the time--I just want all the Schuester grown-up stupidity/love-quadrangle bullshit to disappear. Not interested! I just wanted the kids to sing, and Sue to snark, and Will to shake his tail feather and rap for me ALL THE TIME. Also? I have age-inappropriate feelings for Puck. That boy is gooooood-lookin'.

Bones: Nothing but love! The snark is on, the UST/chemistry is on, and I've finally learned to stop eating dinner while I watch because they never fail to seriously gross me out.

Supernatural: I'm having a hard time being meta this season, but suffice it to say that I am enjoying the fun-apocalypse that Kripke promised. Both the escalation of the human/angel/demon conflict, and the ongoing smaller mystery-of-the-week storylines continue to work for me. I'm glad the boys are working together again. They are still the hottest damn thing on my screen.

Dollhouse: I am wayyyy far behind on this one; I saw the season premiere with Bambini and nothing since then. I heard there was a great one a week or two ago, but honestly at this point I might just wait and catch up on DVD.

And in other upcoming exciting fandom news...I'm insanely stoked for [livejournal.com profile] festivids (like [livejournal.com profile] yuletide but for vids in small/under-represented fandoms instead of fic). I submitted a bunch of TV and movie recommendations that I would love to see anyone make vids of. And I'm excited to snag someone else's prompt myself. I've kind of needed a prompt/challenge to get my vidding juices going again, and this one looks delightful.

Other upcoming challenges that I will not be doing myself but am still insanely excited about: [livejournal.com profile] j2_everafter is back!!!

Oodles and oodles of delightful Disney-fied J2 awesomeness. This is the challenge that brought us such classics as Keepsake--omg best fucking fic EVARRRRR by [livejournal.com profile] indysaur, The Incredibles AU by [livejournal.com profile] ignited, and the cracktastically delightful Cinderella update by [livejournal.com profile] obsessed1 and [livejournal.com profile] juice817. Think of all the new gems to come!
